The Solar System has 8 planets.

Before 2006, there were counted nine planets, but nowadays Pluto is considered a dwarf planet and not a planet, so the Solar System has only eight planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune).
