SIGGRAPH stands for Special Interest Group on Graphics and Interactive Technology (Special Interest Group on Graphics would also be accepted). It is the name of the annual conference on computer graphics which took place in San Diego, California in 2007.

Music Day Extra - 50th Grammy Awards

As most of you probably know, the 50th Grammy Awards were held on February 10 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The ceremony featured performances by many well-know artists, but my favourite was, definitely, Kanye West’s, since it was really creative and very eye-catching. If you didn’t see it or if you just want to see it again, here it is:

If you wish to see other performers (including Foo Fighters, Alicia Keys, Amy Winehouse, Beyoncé, Tina Turner, Fergie and Rihanna) visit the 2008 Grammy Awards official YouTube page.

Because the Grammys are considered the highest music honor, the winners of each category end up being at a higher level of influence when they are announced.

This year’s great winner was Amy Winehouse, who received 5 awards. In the next video, you can see her reaction when she won Best Record:

P.S.: Although it has Hollywood in its name, the studios are not located there, but in a community called Universal City (event though there is contradictory information on the Internet). Approximately 70% of the community (including Universal Studios Hollywood) is located in an unincorporated area of the Los Angeles County, while the remaining part is located inside the city of Los Angeles.
